The first exhibition at the Art Kiosk, Rougemont presents a dialogue between the works of Swiss artists Elise Corpataux and Valentin Carron. Drawing on the artists’ shared interest in the collective production of images and forms, the exhibition attempts to illustrate how all visual production, whether vernacular, industrial or artistic unconsciously draws on the long history of images and signs.

Elise Corpataux presents six new paintings from her series ALL YOU HAVE IS NOW which she first embarked upon in 2019. For this body of work, Corpataux employs representations and images of sunrises and sunsets generated by social media users and found online and appropriates them in her own paintings.

Valentin Carron employs commonplace motifs and ordinary objects which resonate deeply but also subtly with our iconographic unconscious to create sculptures which carry within them the memory of the multiple myths of the avant-gardes of modernity.

The exhibition of Elise Corpataux and Valentin Carron is organised by Balthazar Lovay and Marc Jancou Contemporary and is hosted by the Art Kiosk in Rougemont, Switzerland. The show runs through the 2nd of October 2022.
