Marc Jancou Contemporary is pleased to announce the opening of the exhibition, In Geneva No One Can Hear You Scream, a group show organized by Marc Jancou at BFAS Blondeau Fine Art Services in Geneva. The exhibition will feature new work by an international group of artists including Adel Abdessemed, Carter, Steven Claydon, Michael Cline, Slawomir Elsner, Roe Ethridge, Dorota Jurczak, Justin Lieberman, Nick Lowe, David Noonan, Pietro Roccasalva, Ry Rocklen, Jim Shaw, Anj Smith, and Lucy Stein.
In organizing the exhibition, a number of titles were considered: Sea Sick, Mal de Mer, and A Fascinating Arrangement of Particles. However after contemplating the countless titles that could define this exhibition, it was decided that to sum up these fifteen highly unique artists was impossible. And so the title, In Geneva No One Can Hear You Scream, was born out of a deep affection for Switzerland and the desire to produce a provocative exhibition in what is thought to be a neutral, democratic society.
A color catalogue will be published by JRP Ringier for the exhibition, and will feature interviews with the artists, images, a work of fiction, and a conversation between Adel Abdessemed, Marc Blondeau, and Marc Jancou. A panel discussion will be held at the Musée d'Art Moderne et Contemporain (MAMCO) in Geneva on Wednesday, March 12th and will include Steven Claydon, Justin Lieberman, Jim Shaw, and Anj Smith
